Why did I get that tattoo? Tattoo "Buyer's remorse"

So you didn't believe your Mom when she said you'd regret getting that tattoo—the multicolored, fire-breathing dragon that starts at the small of your back, reaches up to your shoulder blades and wraps its orange flames around your biceps. Now, a mere seven years later, you have a shot at a terrific job in banking, still one of the more conservative businesses around, and you are concerned that your symbol of youthful self-expression could create problems in your new career. We can empathize with you!

It is estimated that roughly 50% of those who get a tattoo will eventually seek out some type of permanent tattoo removal. Laser tattoo removal technology offers a more effective solution than traditional tattoo removal techniques. It has evolved to be the most effective form of treatment available for that unwanted tattoo.

Whether you're looking for a way to rid yourself of an old, unwanted tattoo, or prepare the area for a new one by fading an old one, Aesthetic Lasers & Cosmetic Rejuvenation's laser tattoo removal technology is a safe and effective way to eliminate your tattoo at Aesthetic Lasers & Cosmetic Rejuvenation.

We utilize specially designed aesthetic lasers to remove tattoos by breaking up the pigment colors of the tattoo with a high-intensity light beam. Some tattoo colors are more easily treated than others. For example, black tattoo pigments absorb all laser wave lengths making them much easier to treat. Other colors are much more difficult.

Typically it can take 4-12 treatments to effectively fade or acheive tattoo removal, depending on the size, ink colors and age of the tattoo. With each treatment the laser penetrates more to wipe away the ink.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Today, lasers are the most common and effective method of tattoo removal. They work by targeting the ink with pulses of highly concentrated light that break the ink into tiny fragments, which are then cleared away the your own immune system. However, this isn't all done with just one treatment. The more treatments you have, the more the laser can penetrate to destroy the ink. Experts in removal therapy say that technology has advanced to the point where scarring is minimal, sometimes non-existant, but this can vary depending on the situation. Compliance in care plays a role in the long term effects of the laser tattoo removal treatments.

On top of being physically uncomfortable, laser tattoo removal can be costly in many cases. That is why at Aesthetic Lasers & Cosmetic Rejuvenation we have your pocket book damage in mind as well. Most places, depending on your tattoo, you may need anywhere from 1-12 sessions, each costing in the range of $250-$850 per session ($250 being for a tiny tattoo even!). A large, professional tattoo in color could cost thousands of dollars to remove at other places, and the effectiveness of the removal still isn't guaranteed. That is not the case at Aesthetic Lasers. Although we do not offer a guarantee, as no one does, we pride ourselves on trying to make tattoo removal cost effective for you as we understand the burden of wanting to rid of your tattoo. Our pricing starts at $175 per treatment and in most cases will be a maximum of $350 per treatment.

THE REVLITE (the gold standard for tattoo removal)

The RevLite® EO Q-switched Nd:YAG laser represents the gold standard for tattoo removal. With multiple wavelengths to choose from, physicians can use the optimum wavelength that passes into the skin and is absorbed by a specific color ink, customizing the treatment for each patient and each individual tattoo. HOYA ConBio® lasers are engineered to force energy into the target molecules at such a high rate, they vibrate and shatter. This PhotoAcoustic effect breaks the ink down into tiny particles, which are gradually removed by the body’s natural filtering systems.

The RevLite® features PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse® (PTP), harnessing up to 60 percent more power to deliver peak energy in very narrow pulse widths even at larger spot sizes, while maintaining patient comfort. As a result, the PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse® (PTP) found in RevLite® enables physicians to clear stubborn tattoos safely, comfortably and in potentially fewer treatment sessions. The RevLite® also features pre-programmed settings for tattoo removal and other aesthetic indications in a new intuitive touch screen user interface.

Dark Ink Tattoo Removal with the RevLite® Laser

Wavelength: 1064 nm (infrared)

With a long wavelength, short pulse duration, and high peak power output, the RevLite® aesthetic medical lasers are able to effectively destroy dark chromophores (i.e., tattoo ink) with a very low risk of permanent tissue damage. When compared to lasers in the 600 to 800 nm range, the 1064 nm wavelength produced by a HOYA ConBio® laser lowers the risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. The short, rapid nanosecond pulse widths limit the build-up of heat, reducing the risk of scarring.

Red Ink Laser Tattoo Removal with the RevLite® Laser

Wavelength: 532 nm (green)

The shorter 532 nm wavelength found in the RevLite® and MedLite® lasers is ideal for the removal of red ink, common in professional tattoos and typically resistant to 600 to 800 nm wavelengths. The greater range of wavelengths is just another benefit of the premium engineering of the RevLite® laser. An assortment of wavelength options allow physicians to perform effective treatments on a variety of tattoos – and provide a wide variety of aesthetic procedures, making a HOYA ConBio® laser a vital, versatile addition to any aesthetic medical practice.

Green and Sky Blue Tattoo Removal with the RevLite ® Laser

Wavelength: 585 nm (yellow) 650 nm (red)

The MultiLite Dye Laser Handpieces compatible with HOYA ConBio® lasers convert the 532 nm wavelength to either 585 nm or 650 nm, effectively offering two additional wavelengths and providing an even broader range of options in tattoo removal and other aesthetic procedures. The 585 nm wavelength is ideal for sky blue inks and the 650 nm wavelength is used to treat green inks.
